Several major airlines have canceled or rerouted flights across the Caribbean region after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued airspace restrictions following military activity near Venezuela.
According to aviation authorities, the FAA released notices limiting flights in certain areas unless prior approval is granted. The measures were taken as a precaution after military strikes were reported near Venezuelan airspace.
As a result, flight operations were disrupted at multiple airports, including locations in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and other Caribbean destinations. Airlines stated they are closely monitoring the situation and adjusting schedules to ensure passenger safety.
No timeline has been given for when the restrictions may be lifted, and travelers are advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest updates.
