The father of a 22‑year‑old woman who was killed during a shooting at a funeral repast on Detroit’s east side is speaking out as the investigation continues. The shooting occurred during a large gathering at an event center on Sherwood Street where dozens of people had gathered after a funeral. Gunfire erupted following an argument in the parking lot, leaving two people dead and two others injured. Family members say the victim had traveled from Kentucky to attend the funeral and are calling for accountability as detectives work to identify all individuals involved.
