Recent winter weather continues to disrupt travel and road safety across Metro Detroit, according to the Michigan State Police.
State police reported 86 traffic crashes within the last 24 hours across Wayne County, Oakland County, and Macomb County. Drivers faced challenging conditions including snow squalls, black ice, and slippery roads following overnight snowfall.
Authorities say the crashes highlight the continued impact of winter weather on the region and stress the importance of cautious driving. The Michigan State Police are reminding motorists to slow down, increase following distances, and remain alert while traveling during winter conditions.
Officials urge drivers to check road conditions before heading out and allow extra time for travel as winter weather persists.
