Officials across the Midwest and Plains are continuing recovery efforts after a multi‑day tornado outbreak killed at least eight people in Michigan and Oklahoma and injured dozens.
In southern Michigan, powerful tornadoes struck communities including Union City, Three Rivers, and Edwardsburg, destroying homes and businesses. Preliminary damage surveys suggest at least one tornado reached EF3 strength with winds near 150 mph.
In Oklahoma, four fatalities were reported, including a mother and daughter killed when their vehicle was lifted by a tornado. Additional deaths occurred in Beggs, where homes and infrastructure were heavily damaged.
